PRP Hair Loss Treatment
We can help restore your hair to it's former glory
PRP Hair Loss Treatment Explained
Hair loss can be a distressing experience, impacting not just your appearance but your confidence as well.
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is a cutting-edge, non-surgical treatment that has been scientifically proven to stimulate hair growth and combat hair thinning.
PRP therapy involves drawing a small amount of your blood, processing it to concentrate the platelets, and then injecting this potent serum directly into your scalp.
These platelets contain powerful growth factors that promote healing and regeneration at the cellular level, effectively waking up dormant hair follicles and encouraging new hair growth.
What sets PRP apart from other treatments is its ability to deliver natural, long-lasting results without the need for surgery or harsh chemicals.
With minimal downtime and a high success rate, PRP has quickly become the go-to treatment for those seeking to reverse hair loss and achieve a fuller, healthier head of hair.
Whether you’re experiencing early signs of thinning or more advanced hair loss, PRP therapy offers a safe, effective, and natural way to regain your hair and your confidence.
How PRP Therapy Stimulates Hair Follicles and Promotes Hair Growth
PRP therapy harnesses your body’s natural healing power by using your own blood to rejuvenate hair follicles, promoting thicker, stronger hair growth.
A small blood sample is taken and spun in a centrifuge to extract the platelet-rich plasma, which is rich in growth factors essential for tissue repair.
This concentrated plasma is then injected into areas of the scalp affected by hair loss, stimulating natural hair regeneration.
Once in the scalp the growth factors get to work by;
Stimulating Hair Follicles
The growth factors in PRP stimulate the activity of hair follicles, encouraging them to transition from a dormant state to an active growth phase. This results in the rejuvenation of weakened follicles and the promotion of new hair growth.
Enhancing Blood Supply
PRP improves blood circulation in the scalp, ensuring that hair follicles receive an increased supply of oxygen and essential nutrients. This enhanced blood flow is crucial for the health and vitality of hair follicles, supporting the growth of stronger and thicker hair strands.
Increasing Collagen Production
PRP therapy boosts collagen production in the scalp, which strengthens the skin and provides a healthier environment for hair follicles. Collagen is a key structural protein that helps maintain the elasticity and integrity of the skin, contributing to a fuller and more youthful appearance of the hair.
Reducing Inflammation
Chronic inflammation can damage hair follicles and inhibit hair growth. The anti-inflammatory properties of PRP help to calm the scalp, reducing inflammation and creating a more favorable environment for hair growth.
Accelerating Tissue Repair
The bioactive proteins in PRP accelerate the repair and regeneration of damaged tissues in the scalp. This not only supports hair follicle health but also contributes to a quicker recovery and more effective treatment outcomes.
PRP Hair RestorationProcess
Withdraw Your Blood
The process begins with a simple blood draw, similar to what you would experience during a routine blood test. We typically take a small amount of blood—usually around 10 to 20 milliliters—from your arm. This is a quick and virtually painless procedure, performed by our skilled medical professionals.
Centrifuge
Once we’ve collected your blood, it’s placed into a specialized centrifuge machine.
- Red Blood Cells (RBCs): These settle at the bottom of the tube.
- Plasma: This remains at the top and contains platelets, white blood cells, and other nutrients.
- Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP): A concentrated layer containing a high level of platelets is found just above the red blood cells.
Seperate Out Platelet Rich Plasma
After the centrifugation process is complete, the platelet-rich plasma is carefully extracted from the tube using a syringe. This PRP is the golden-yellow serum that is rich in growth factors, proteins, and other bioactive compounds that are crucial for stimulating hair growth and tissue regeneration.
Inject PRP into Thinning Areas of the Scalp
The PRP is injected into your scalp using a fine needle. We focus on the areas most affected by hair loss, targeting the hair follicles that need stimulation. This part of the process is usually quick and involves multiple small injections across the treatment area.

Ideal Candidates for PRP Therapy
Individuals with Early to Moderate Hair Loss
PRP therapy is particularly effective for those experiencing early signs of hair thinning or moderate hair loss. If your hair follicles are still active but producing thinner, weaker hair, PRP can help revitalize them and promote thicker, healthier growth.
People with Androgenetic Alopecia
PRP is often used to treat androgenetic alopecia, commonly known as male or female pattern baldness. This genetic condition leads to gradual hair thinning and is one of the most common types of hair loss PRP can address effectively.
Patients Seeking a Non-Surgical Solution
If you’re looking for a hair restoration method that doesn’t involve surgery, PRP is an excellent choice. It’s minimally invasive, with no incisions or stitches required, making it a great alternative to hair transplant surgery.
Healthy Individuals with Realistic Expectations
Ideal candidates should be in generally good health and have realistic expectations about the results. PRP can significantly improve hair density and quality, but it may not fully restore hair to its original thickness in more advanced cases of hair loss.
Those Interested in a Natural Treatment
Since PRP uses your own blood to stimulate hair growth, it’s an attractive option for those seeking a natural, chemical-free treatment. There’s no risk of allergic reactions or the side effects that can come with synthetic products.

Why are stimulation and blocking therapies recommended when having a hair transplant?
A hair transplant is a considerable investment. You will want to keep your hair looking good for a long time to come. Apart from this your donar hair is a finite resource. If you continue to lose hair from behind your existing hair transplant, it will look unnatural. You will then be required to undergo another hair transplant procedure, thus using up more of your available donar hair.
Medical treatments for hair loss include the stimulating and blocking treatments. Stimulating treatments encourage all hairs to be in the active growing phase, hence the hair will look thicker. Blocker therapies work by blocking the enzyme 5 alpha reductase which coverts testosterone into di hydro testosterone – DHT. It is the DHT which causes hair loss in those that have the hair loss gene.
Minoxidil is a common medical treatment to stimulate your miniaturised hair to become thicker. It is best applied as a topical foam on the scalp area needing treatment.
Finasteride is the blocking treatment to reduce DHT levels in the blood stream and thus help prevent more hair loss.
What is Neograft FUE hair transplant?
Neograft FUE hair transplant is a minimally invasive hair restoration procedure that uses automated technology to extract individual hair follicles from the donor area and implant them into the balding or thinning area of the scalp.
How does Neograft FUE hair transplant differ from traditional hair transplant methods?
Unlike traditional hair transplant methods, Neograft FUE hair transplant uses a handheld device to extract individual hair follicles, rather than removing a strip of scalp tissue. This results in less scarring and a faster recovery time.
How long does the procedure take?
The length of the procedure depends on the number of hair follicles being transplanted. Generally, a Neograft FUE hair transplant can take anywhere from several hours to a full day.
Is the procedure painful?
Most patients report minimal pain or discomfort during the procedure. Local anesthesia is used to numb the scalp, and patients are given medication to manage any post-operative pain.
What is the recovery time?
The recovery time for Neograft FUE hair transplant is typically shorter than traditional hair transplant methods, with most patients able to resume normal activities within a few days. However, it can take several weeks for the transplanted hair follicles to fully heal and grow.
Are there any risks or side effects?
As with any surgical procedure, there are potential risks and side effects, including infection, bleeding, and scarring. However, these risks are generally low with Neograft FUE hair transplant when performed by a qualified and experienced surgeon.
How long will it take to see results?
It can take several months for the transplanted hair follicles to begin growing, and up to a year for the full results to be visible. However, most patients see significant improvement within six months.
How many grafts can be transplanted in a single session?
The number of grafts that can be transplanted in a single session varies depending on the patient’s individual needs and the surgeon’s assessment. Typically, anywhere from 500 to 3,000 grafts can be transplanted in a single session.
Can Neograft FUE hair transplant be used for eyebrow or beard restoration?
Yes, Neograft FUE hair transplant can be used to restore hair in other areas of the body, including the eyebrows and beard.
Is there any special care required after the procedure?
Patients will be provided with specific aftercare instructions to follow, including how to care for the transplanted area and when to resume normal activities.
Will my hair transplant look natural?
Neograft hair transplant uses a FUE technique. This means that hairs are transplanted stand by stand. The surgeon will attempt to mimic the density and direction of growth of the surrounding hair so the results should look very natural.
How long do the results last?
The results of Neograft FUE hair transplant can be long-lasting, as the transplanted hair follicles are typically resistant to hair loss. However, additional sessions may be required in the future to maintain the desired level of hair density.
Who might benefit from a hair transplant?
Receiving a hair transplant can improve your appearance and self-confidence. Good candidates for a hair transplant include:
- men with male pattern baldness
- women with thinning hair
- anyone who has lost some hair from a burn or scalp injury
Hair replacement is NOT a good option for:
- women with a widespread pattern of hair loss throughout the scalp
- people who don’t have enough “donor” hair sites from which to remove hair for transplant
- people who form keloid scars (thick, fibrous scars) after injury or surgery
- people whose hair loss is due to medication such as chemotherapy
